Thankful, Grateful, Blessed

November 14, 20231 min read

Thanksgiving is upon us—I’m sure I’m not alone in asking “where has this year gone?!” It’s another reminder that time is fleeting and to pause for a moment to appreciate how very blessed and grateful I am for so many wonderful family members, friends, and clients. I would especially like to thank past and present clients who were instrumental in helping ensure another year of recognition as the top five percent of Denver area REALTORS®, for both me and Joni Pierce. It’s especially appreciated with the unpredictable and challenging market over the past year!

November is the month to recognize and thank all the men and women who have served, and those currently serving, our great country. It’s also the month to recognize and honor Native American heritage.

As we approach the holiday shopping and gifting season I would, once again, like to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug the importance of supporting our community of locally owned small businesses and artists. They are part of our “collective community”—friends, family, and neighbors. As I write this, I am reminded that community is a word with a depth of meaning beyond a place or a group. It’s also a way of “being with each other” by looking beyond the differences to seek out the common ground, finding the bridges that connect us with each other. Life is better when we look for the best in each other, and remember that together, we are a stronger, better, and more resilient community—one which I am thankful, grateful, and blessed to be a part of.

The holiday season is upon us. A time to express appreciation for the people, experiences, and opportunities that enrich our lives. As we take a moment to give thanks and celebrate with our families and our communities – let’s not forget the uniquely valuable small, local businesses that are at the heart of our communities.

In today’s fast-paced world, shopping has never been more convenient with online giants and big-box stores offering rapid delivery and low prices. But, unlike mass retailers, small businesses and local shop owners offer personal relationships, leading to better service and customized recommendations. Whether it’s a handmade candle or boutique clothing, these businesses offer a personal touch that can’t be replicated.

The holiday season is a crucial time for small businesses. Events like “Small Business Saturday” remind us to support the shops that keep our communities vibrant. But it’s important to continue that support throughout the year to ensure these businesses thrive.

This holiday season, when shopping for a gift, a service, or just a little treat for yourself, consider visiting our local businesses first. Every purchase makes a meaningful difference, helping build a stronger, more connected community for everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Dawa
