There is still time!

February 15, 20241 min read

You are probably still getting a lot of phone calls about Medicare options. I know that these calls seem to never end, and the sad truth is, they probably never will. One of the reasons sales agents are calling is to see if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan that you would like to change.

January 1 - March 31 each year is the Medicare Advantage Plan Open Enrollment Period. This is a time when a person who starts the year on a Medicare Advantage Plan, can make a plan change to another Medicare Advantage Plan or even apply for a Medicare Supplement and add a prescription drug plan.

This is not a time when you can change your stand alone prescription drug plan from one stand alone prescription drug plan to another stand alone prescription drug plan.

This is just designed for people on Medicare Advantage Plans. My perception of this Enrollment Period is that it’s for people who may have made a plan change during the Annual Enrollment Period in the fall and realized that the plan they chose may not work as well for them as they had hoped. This gives you an opportunity to either go back to the plan you came from or choose another plan that could work better for you.

If all of this information seems confusing, please don’t hesitate to call me with any questions that you have. I’m always happy to help.

. . . . . . . . . .

I do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently I represent 16 organizations which offer 80 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1–800–MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Program to get information on all your options.

The holiday season is upon us. A time to express appreciation for the people, experiences, and opportunities that enrich our lives. As we take a moment to give thanks and celebrate with our families and our communities – let’s not forget the uniquely valuable small, local businesses that are at the heart of our communities.

In today’s fast-paced world, shopping has never been more convenient with online giants and big-box stores offering rapid delivery and low prices. But, unlike mass retailers, small businesses and local shop owners offer personal relationships, leading to better service and customized recommendations. Whether it’s a handmade candle or boutique clothing, these businesses offer a personal touch that can’t be replicated.

The holiday season is a crucial time for small businesses. Events like “Small Business Saturday” remind us to support the shops that keep our communities vibrant. But it’s important to continue that support throughout the year to ensure these businesses thrive.

This holiday season, when shopping for a gift, a service, or just a little treat for yourself, consider visiting our local businesses first. Every purchase makes a meaningful difference, helping build a stronger, more connected community for everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Dawa
