Double check all the lights on your car
As the days start to get shorter, now is the time to check all the lights on your car. Be sure to check your head lights, turn signals, brake lights, license plate light, etc. I actually once got pulled over because my license plate light had burned out. The Trooper was very nice. He gave me his business card and no ticket. That is an easy light to forget to check. Also, make sure that you turn your headlights on as it is getting dark earlier. You will very likely get pulled over for driving at night with no headlights.
Renew your registration early and attach the sticker to the back of your license plate
Driving with expired license plates is another way to get pulled over very quickly.
You should be able to renew your registration on the Internet and get your annual registration card and sticker in the mail in plenty of time before your registration expires.
Fix and repair your broken or cracked windshield
While it may be expensive, driving a motor vehicle on a public road or highway with a cracked or broken windshield can also get you pulled over.
Watch your speed
Many drivers do not realize that the speed limit on most of I-270 is 55 miles per hour. I have gotten many calls from people who were ticketed for going well over that amount. Arguing that you were just keeping up with other traffic on I-270 will not get you out of a ticket. Be careful!
