Besides the fact that the sun is shining daily these days, we’re coming into the months that Brighton’s heritage is shining with all of the fresh produce available for its residents and those from surrounding areas. The amazing soil in this farmland produces some of the best vegetables in all of Colorado. It’s definitely time to adorn our tables with fruits and vegetables and experience the wonderful tastes of summer at their finest!
As in year’s past, there will be a celebration of the local farming heritage on August 22nd when the community celebrates Market Day. Vendors display their wares and a number of the local farmers will bring their products to sell at this event. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Brighton. There will also be a Family Bike Tour that will ride through the local farm area visiting some of the farms. Don’t miss out on all the fun honoring our farming community.
Our cover advertiser, Palizzi Farm, will also celebrate with their annual Labor Day weekend event from September 4th through September 7th at their market on 6th & Bromley Lane. Their signature event on Sunday, Sept. 6th, will include live music all day long, contests, and fireworks at dusk. While their vegetables will be available through early October, this is the time to buy the season’s best vegetables at the most reasonable prices to freeze or can for the months when you’re missing the taste of their nutrient packed delicious favorites. Be sure to put this event on your calendar as well.
