Friends and neighbors ask me all the time, “Are we are at the peak of our market?” Since I love numbers and love sharing them, here are a few. Last year home prices rose almost 9% and this year we may see the same. The good news is that the national median price for home prices is still 16% below the long term average of the pre-recession period. This means is there is still room for appreciation; the value of your home can still increase after you buy.
Our local real estate market continues to be very strong in the Denver/Boulder market. That’s because there are a lot of people moving into our great state. That’s both a blessing and a curse in the real estate world. Inventory continues to decrease, which increases pressure on the demand for our limited housing opportunities. Last year we had 5,943 homes that were active on the MLS and this year we have 5,245 homes.
I study the numbers like Keller Williams does. Many of the stats that I share are from our company’s research. I am sharing them with you to help you better understand the current market and make wise decisions. It is part of the KW culture to share and care. Last year we donated millions of dollars through our KW Cares program to less fortunate individuals throughout the country.
Here locally, our Margolis KW Team teamed up with the Brighton Fire Department to help an elderly Brighton couple by removing dumpsters of trash, caulking old windows and cleaning up their yard.
We are now looking for a family or an organization to help on our annual RED Day, which takes place on Thursday, May 11. If you know of someone in need, let us know by email or phone. We want to give back to our great communities who give so much to us!
