The Spring real estate market sure was sizzling! The main reason is the simple economic law of supply and demand. Inventory in April was down 10 percent compared to 2015. High demand, plus low supply, plus low interest rates equal a very competitive market.
So what can we expect this summer? Will buyers be happy, or sellers, or both? We are still averaging under 5,000 single family homes and just shy of 1,300 condos for sale in the Denver metro area. To put that in perspective, four years ago there were 8,353 single family homes and over 1,900 condos for sale!
The past month has seen a bit of a relief for buyers, as they have not had to bid against 15+ offers for a home under $300,000. The market continues to be red hot, just not insane. Thankfully, that’s good news for buyers and sellers!
As you think about putting your home on the market this summer, please make sure you give your home the best curb appeal possible to make a great first impression and get top dollar for your property. Curb appeal refers to both the in-person view as well as the photos that are posted online.
