Offered by Melissa Rippy, Allstate Rippy Insurance

Our 5th Annual School Supply Drive was our biggest collection to date! Thank you to so many of our community members for their generous donations to the students of the 27J School District. We filled a total of 21 tote bags and delivered them just in time for the first day of school.

As some of you may know, I lost my dad in December of 2017 to Acute Myleoid Leukemia. In the months since, I have created a non-profit organization called “Ripbeams,” where we collect handmade beanies, convert them to “Ripbeams” and give them to kids with leukemia. To date, we have given almost 700 beanies to children in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, California, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. On September 8th, Creative U in Brighton is hosting a free one hour class to learn how to make beanies with a loom. You can register for the class by calling 303.654.0373.

On Thursday September 13th, stop by the Ripbeams table at “Girls’ Night Out”, happening at Platte Valley Medical Center from 5:30 – 8:30 pm.

On Friday September 14th, join my family and I on the steps of Historic City Hall for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce. This will begin at 3 pm and we will be accepting skeins of yarn and handmade beanies at this event.

On Sunday September 16th, Big Choice Brewing has offered to host a Tap-A-Keg for Ripbeams event from 1-4 pm. They generously offered to donate $3 from each beer to Ripbeams.
