While it’s true that the real estate market is as hot as ever, there are still things you should do before you list your home. Changes in our communities has changed our day-to-day lives. If you’re considering putting your home on the market this autumn, here are some things to consider:
Seasonal differences. The images used to market your home are the first impression potential buyers get. Before they even see the number of bedrooms, how many spaces in the garage, or how large the lot is, pictures get attention. is means that if you’re considering putting your house on the market, talk with your REALTOR® right away. Get photos scheduled so that your beautiful green lawn shines brightly on the market when other lawns have faded.
Air it out. With cooler temperatures, it’s an excellent time to air out the house. Open windows, clean the exterior, and open the blinds for extra light as the days get shorter.
Clear the space. With the change in school and work routines, it’s likely that your house looks pretty lived in. Do yourself a favor and do another deep clean (similar to what you do in the spring) to purge unnecessary paperwork, toys, clothes, and other household items that can clutter your home. When you’re ready to list (and to move!) you’ll be that much further ahead.
Get help. If you’re unsure about what the right time is to sell your home, talk with a REALTOR®. Your real estate professional can discuss your goals, get clarity on your timeline, and work with you to create a plan that gets you where you want to be.
