Offered by Brighton Legacy Foundation

Founded in 2005 as a registered 501(c)3, the Brighton Legacy Foundation has funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to Brighton non-profit organizations providing assistance to residents of Brighton. Primary funding sponsored through the City of Brighton is awarded via agency grants to Brighton’s food pantries, as well as many other local groups serving youth, families, seniors, and those with physical and/or mental challenges including Brighton Shares the Harvest, Arapahoe House, CASA, Friends of Barr Lake, Almost Home, Audio Information Network, Brother’s Redevelopment, Pennock Center for Counseling, Richard Lambert Foundation, Salud Family Health Center, Senior Hub, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Colorado Information Services, Alternatives for Family Violence, Harmony Angels, Meals on Wheels, Brighton Kiwanis’s Youth Safety AWARE Fair, Brighton Youth Commission, Brighton Police Explorers, and others.

Additionally, through fundraising activities and sponsorships from local businesses/organizations, the Foundation awards several scholarships each year to graduating 27J seniors and continuing education students, and helps fund various community youth activities including attendance at conferences and competitions. Fundraisers have included the Legacy Disc Golf Tournament, Legacy Poker Run, Legacy Ghost Run, Legacy Car Show, kickball tournament, and Historic Downtown walking tour. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors, comprised of twelve community members.

The Foundation is grateful to our 2016 premier sponsors: Griffimages Photography & Design dba Colorado Marketing Chick, United Power, Front Range Community College, Valley Bank & Trust, and Mehaffy Brubaker & Ernst LLC. We couldn’t do it without them or our individual event sponsors, benefactors, and volunteers!
