How many phone calls and mailers do you get from insurance agents wanting to solicit your Medicare Insurance business??? 5, 10, 20 a day? Medicare Insurance Agents can seem like vultures at times. It can be a numbers game for them. The more clients they can “close”, the more money they can make. The telesales agents, are literally just looking to make a sale with each call.

Their tactics are confusing at best and leave many dumbfounded as to what just happened. I can’t even count the number of times I have heard a person tell me how they didn’t know they were enrolling in a plan. “It just happened so fast.”

There is a distinct difference between those on the phone and those of us who come to your home and actually walk you through the ins and outs of Medicare. How Medicare works can be one of the most confusing things to tackle as a retiree.

Being comfortable with your insurance decisions is so important. Understanding what you have is essential to your financial happiness. Remember, if you feel things are moving too quickly, you can always hang up or ask an agent to leave. Don’t ever feel like you have to sign the dotted line if you’re uncomfortable.

Also, remember that if you are working with an agent, always go to them with your questions. When you bring another agent in the picture, whether on the phone or in person, you eliminate the one you trusted all along to help you.
