August is traditionally a month where parents focus on getting ready for back to school. The purchase of a home usually takes a back seat. Surprisingly in 2013, August was one of the busiest months of the year in zip codes 80601,80602,& 80603. That is when the market was definitely on a rebound from the housing recession. In 2014, August finished in the top half as well. We all know the market is strong, and this trend shows it as well. Most Denver metro real estate values have only gone up since 2013. The average price of a home in June of 2013 was $238,750 and for 2015 it was $319,821. That is an increase of $81,071. Pretty incredible!
As families prepare for the upcoming school year, there are split schedules for District 27J’s Brighton and Prairie View High Schools. We wish those students, families, and staff the best of luck in navigating the new system.
