Offered by Central Colorado Tax Services, LLC
Tax deadline is October 15th
Taxpayers, if you haven’t yet filed your 2014 tax return you have less than a month to do so. October 15th is the last day to file if you filed for a six-month extension. If you didn’t file an extension by April 15th, you should file and pay any taxes due as soon as possible, as this will stop the interest and penalties you may owe for filing late. Remember there is NO penalty for filing a late return if you are due a refund.
The IRS would like to remind taxpayers who received advance payments of the premium tax credit in 2014 that they should file their 2014 tax return as soon as possible, even if you’re usually not required to file. You MUST file to reconcile the premium tax credit you took. Otherwise, you will be ineligible for the advance payments of the premium tax credit or cost-sharing reductions to help pay your Marketplace health insurance in 2016, causing you to be responsible for the full cost of the monthly premiums.
