Offered by Abby Martinez, City of Brighton

The Mayors and Commissioners of Adams County are asking for nominations for the Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards. Each year, this program recognizes young people in grades 6th-12th, or those who may not be in a school setting but are 20 years of age or younger, who have overcome personal adversity to create a positive change in their own lives or those around them.

This program provides businesses, the community and civic leaders an opportunity to actively demonstrate their support for the young people in our communities and recognize them for their accomplishments. Businesses may also help by making a monetary or in-kind donation.

Brighton nominees will be recognized at a special dinner/city council meeting on March 21, 2017. Award recipient(s) will be recognized at a dinner/awards ceremony on April 27, 2017 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

If you know of a student who would be a good candidate, please help us to identify them. Request a nomination form by contacting Abby Martinez, City of Brighton Youth Services, at agmartinez@brightonco.gov. Nomination forms must be received no later than January 27, 2017.

When completing the nomination form please be specific as to why you think your nominee should receive this award. Remember to include as much information as possible. Because some information may be sensitive, please indicate if any of it needs to be kept confidential.
