Offered by Brighton Shares the Harvest

BSH_Logo_NoWebsiteBrighton Shares The Harvest loves to educate, enable, and encourage gardeners to grow fruits and vegetables for their families, and others in the community. Our mission is “Putting more fresh produce on more tables in Brighton.” Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, we’d like to share the following educational, enabling, and encouraging opportunities with you.

CSU Extension offers the following classes at their offices, 9755 Henderson Rd, Brighton, in the Parks Meeting Room. Each class is from 10am – 12:15pm:

  • 2/27: Greenhouses and Season Extending Tactics
  • 3/12: Small Fruits
  • 4/9: Vegetable Container Gardening

To register, call 303-637-8016. Each class is $10, and we have scholarship money available.

We have a fundraising partnership with a local (Broomfield) seed company, Botanical Interests, which provides an opportunity for you to help us fund our programs by purchasing great seeds, at no extra cost to you. They have a wide variety of fruit, vegetable, herb, and fl ower seeds, including organic and heirloom. Go to our website, www.BrightonSharesTheHarvest.org, and click on the Botanical Interests banner on our home page. By starting on our website and linking to their website, we’ll get a 20% rebate on your entire order.

Finally, we’d like to encourage you to plant some extra produce to donate to friends, family, and neighbors this summer. You can help us meet our mission of “Putting more fresh produce on more tables in Brighton” by planting a few extra plants and sharing your harvest.
