Summer is a season that is loved by many. With all of the May activities, it sneaks up on us right after many significant events, and then we switch into the vacation/summer fun mode. Our expectations are high and we’re looking at these three beautiful months as a time to squeeze in everything we like to do during great weather and many days of sunshine. Let’s take this opportunity to think what makes our families and ourselves most happy and create wonderful memories of the Summer of 2017 by doing them!
One of the first of our Summer Activities will be Summerfest on June 3rd at Carmichael Park from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Our May issue had the event as its cover and we hope many of you have put this date on your calendar to make sure you don’t miss this day long event. In the centerfold of this issue are other upcoming events in the City of Brighton and we hope you take notice and get those on your schedule as well.
Another highlight of June is Father’s Day. This year it’s on June 18th and we hope you all will spend time honoring the special dads in your life. Showing appreciation to those we love is one of the best gifts we can give. Happy Father’s Day to all of our readers!
Below are a couple of quotes that may bring smiles and introspection:
A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing and the lawnmower is broken. ~ James Dent
And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow fast in the movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning again with the summer. ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald
All the best this May,
